As a little girl, Deborah was certain: she was going to become a midwife. However, she needed perseverance, as she was repeatedly not selected through the lottery system for admission, which led her to pursue another course of study initially. Finally, in 2006, she graduated and was able to practice the most beautiful profession in the world.

Deborah lives in Harderwijk with her husband Rogier and their children Emma and Tom.
