18-20-week ultrasound/SER

The 18-20-week ultrasound is a medical ultrasound, also known as SER (Structural Echoscopic Research, SEO in Dutch) and shall be taken around 18 – 19 weeks of pregnancy. This is a recent adjustment of national policy and the goal of this ultrasound is to exclude whether the baby has any physical abnormalities. This could either be a spina bifida defect, anencephaly or heart issues. We also check whether the growth of the baby is as it should be and if there is enough amniotic fluid.
